Jennifer Rene Psaki
Jennifer Rene Psaki is an American political advisor who served as the 34th White House press secretary from 2021 to 2022. As a member of the Democratic Party, she previously worked in the Obama administration as the White House deputy press secretary (2009) as well as the White House deputy communications director (2009-2011); the spokesperson for the United States Department of State (2013-2015) as well as the White House communications director (2015-2017. Psaki was a contributor to the election to CNN between 2017-2020. Psaki's career began in 2001, when she was working on behalf of the reelection campaigns for Tom Harkin, an Iowa Democrats running for the U.S. Senate. Psaki was later appointed as the deputy press secretary for John Kerry's presidential campaign in 2004. Psaki was also the communications director for Joseph Crowley, a U.S. Representative, as well as the regional press secretary of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee from 2005 to 2006. Psaki returned in 2012 to political communications and was press secretary for President Obama's 2012 reelection campaign. [20] Psaki was named spokesperson for the United States Department of State on February 11, 2013. The appointment in the Department of State fueled speculation that she would succeed White House Press Secretary Jay Carney after he left the White House, on May 30 the 30th of May, 2014 it was announced that Josh Earnest would replace Carney. She returned to White House as Communications Director in 2015 , and was there until the end.
