Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was a businesswoman, investor and speaker from the United States. The Corcoran Group is a New York City-based real-estate brokerage. In 2001, it was sold to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran resigned from the company within a short time. One of the show's first "Shark" investors, Corcoran has appeared in the entire 12 seasons of ABC's Shark Tank until now. Since February of 2020, she's signed 53 deals for the show, with the biggest being a $350,000 investment for 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the second of 10 children in a middle class Irish-Catholic family. Florence Corcoran was Florence's mom and also a housekeeper. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr., bounced from job to job throughout Corcoran's youth. Her family often relied on free food deliveries from a local grocery store. Corcoran recalls her father as a man who occasionally drank too much and did her mother a disservice and condescension, particularly after he'd consumed alcohol. Corcoran was a troubled pupil throughout her schooling. She later discovered that she was dyslexic. Corcoran began in high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after having attended an Catholic primary school. Corcoran was fluent in several classes during her first year. She was transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a grade of D.
